Learning from Survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence
Rape Crisis Statistics 2023
‘Learning from Survivors of Rape and Sexual Violence – Rape Crisis Statistics 2023’ is based on data collated from Rape Crisis Centres across Ireland via Rape Crisis Ireland’s Data Collection System. In this way, the many thousands of survivors who were in contact with specialist sexual violence services in the community in 2023 gain a voice in the public sphere, whether or not they have spoken out publicly.
The process of collecting survivors’ data, which is all recorded and stored in a secure and confidential way, transforms the collective experience of victims into a statistical evidence base, which is a powerful tool to inform public debate and drive policy change.
